About Jimmies Right
Jimmies Right is a barrel machine, that throws up some of the biggest barrels around. The take off is heavy and full commitment is need to make the drop as the wave walls out in front of you, and a prompt line into the barrel is needed to navigate the first section. From here you will want to keep your line and head for the exit, hopefully making it and pulling off the back before the waves closes out on the dry end section.
Best Conditions for Jimmies Right
Jimmies right needs a large SW swell and an even larger S swell to navigate the headland and get into this little nook. A high tide is needed to cover the shallow reef and offshore winds from the N – NE. This spot prefers the off season winds so it makes it a little fickle to get a large swell, high tides and off season winds.
Getting in and out at Jimmies Right
Get in and out by paddling around the reef in the channel to the south. Be careful of the shallow reef when straightening out here.
Getting to Jimmies Right
Follow the newly constructed road all the way from Krui town, turn off onto Jalan Pekon Balak, and make your way through the village to the ocean. You can park near the ocean over looking the reef on the breakwall.
Hazards to look out for at Jimmies Right
This wave is shallow and dangerous, and given its remote location you are a long way from help, so take care.
Bear in mind the shallow end section when pulling off your last manoeuvre.
