Overview of Location and Area

Cikembang is tucked between Karang Haji and Karang Hawu, a little further west of Cimaja in Sukabumi Regency, West Java. It’s a remote-feeling setup surrounded by jungle and rice paddies, accessed by a long dirt road and a solid hike. This is pure strike mission territory — no warungs, no rentals, just you and the wave.

About Cikembang

Cikembang is a right-hand point break that wraps along a rock and boulder-strewn headland. When it lines up, it can run for over 150 meters, offering smooth, high-performance walls with sections for cutbacks, hacks, and speed runs. The takeoff is fast, with the first section offering a quick pocket that leads into a more rippable wall. It’s got great shape, especially when the swell direction is right and the tide is pushing.

Best Conditions for Cikembang

SW swell in the 4–8 ft range
Needs a mid to high tide to fill in the inside
NE wind is ideal
Most consistent and clean in dry season (May–October)

Getting in and out at Cikembang

You’ll need to park up and walk 30+ minutes along a coastal track or through fields depending on your approach. Paddle-out is easy through a channel off the side of the point. The bottom is rocky and bouldery — booties optional but useful. There’s no help nearby, so time your exit and don’t get caught inside.

Getting to Cikembang

From Jakarta, drive to Pelabuhan Ratu (5–6 hours), then continue west past Cimaja and Cisolok. The turnoff to Cikembang is unmarked — ask local guides or surf camps for the right entry track. You’ll need your own transport, supplies, and a willingness to mission in. Closest surf lodges are back in Cimaja.
