Overview of Location and Area
Money Trees is tucked into the eastern edge of G‑Land’s famed left-hand point along Grajagan Bay, in the remote jungle of East Java’s Alas Purwo National Park an area only accessible by boat charters from Bali.
About Money Trees
This is G‑Land’s backbone. Money Trees delivers fast, hollow barrels along a clean wall that’s more composed than the deeper sections down the point. The drop zone at higher tides is more forgiving, though still sharp reef. On a good SW swell with consistent east trades, it’s a flawless left that often follows from the Kongs warm-up section.
Best Conditions for Money Trees
Swell: Needs a solid SW energy—the kind that wraps perfectly into the bay.
Wind: Early morning east winds make the faces glossy and glassy.
Tide: Higher is better for safety and making the take-off zone more manageable.
Season: Apex runs from May to October during Indo’s dry season, when swell and wind sync up.
Getting In and Out at Money Trees
Most people paddle in from Kongs, drifting through the keyhole entry.
Getting There
Your best bet is a fast boat ride from Bali straight to a surf camp at G‑Land. Jack’s, Bobby’s, or YoYo’s are your typical home bases. From there, Money Trees is usually one peak down from camp, lining up with your morning sessions.
Hazards to Look Out For
Shallow reef: That take-off zone is unforgiving on the wrong tide.
Strong swell: The wave’s speed makes positioning critical.
Stay sharp, and commit!
