About Padang-Padang Rights

Padang-Padang rights is a great option for beginners who are progressing their skills, and have just moved off beach breaks. It is the mellowest wave on the peninsula.

It breaks over a seaweed-covered reef, which is a lot more forgiving then its neighbours. A small peak stands up over the reef, and offers a mushy wall that can peel for 50-80m. The first section can have a bit of life, and allow the better surfers to put in a turn or a cutback, and then it starts to fade back giving the long-boarders or beginners a great ride into the channel. There are also some fun lefts to be had off the peak, back towards the reef when its small.

Best Conditions for Padang-Padang Rights

Padang-Padang rights only breaks on the higher tides when the water is covering the reef, and will break from waist high to about head high. It is offshore in S – E winds, making it a great location for beginners to post up in the dry season.
