Nusa Lembongan offers an amazing array of quality waves suiting all levels, all within a stone’s throw of each other, and on a stunning tropical island!

It is the only area in the east of Bali that is offshore in the dry season trade winds.

Access Nusa Lembongan by catching the ferry across from Sanur, there are plenty of tourist booths around that can offer you a ticket (be sure to negotiate on the price), or you can go directly to the office on Jalan Hang tuah, next to Warung Nano’k.

About Lacerations

Lacerations is across the channel, north of Playgrounds. It picks up a bit more swell than its neighbours and offers a lot more punch! At anything above head high, it offers barrels right from the take-off, that will pitch heavily and throw a 2-3 second barrel across the super shallow reef. It offers a great opportunity to backdoor the barrel section, for everyone with the skill to make the critical, sometimes free-fall drop. On a good day, the barrel will tend to flare open and stay wide after the takeoff, and offer an exit into the channel.

Best Conditions for Lacerations

Lacerations prefer a higher tide to cover the inside reef, and give enough water between your skin and the coral! It breaks from head high to 1.5 over-head, and is offshore in SE – NE, making it a great option in the dry season.

Getting in and out of Lacerations

Access Lacerations by paddling from the shore, through the channels on either side of the reef. It can be a bit of a long paddle. You can negotiate with local boat drivers to take you out and pick you up if you want to save some energy.

Once on the island, it is easy to get around, and if you are staying in the area you will most likely walk here along the beach. Lacerations is across the channel from playgrounds.

Hazards to look out for at Lacerations

the reef can get shallow here at low tide, so be aware of the reef.

It can get crowded when the conditions are good, so be sure to take your manners, and let the locals show you how it’s done!
