Heading North out of town from Krui, the first documented break is Jenny’s. Amenities start getting a little thin up this way so be sure to bring what you need. You can find local food, and there is a convenience store just before you enter the village. English is not widely spoken up here, so a guide or a good grasp of Bahasa Indonesia can help out alot. You are a while away from any medical facilities up here also, so be sure to surf within your ability and take care.

About Jennys Right

Jenny’s right is an approachable right hander that is one of the best options in the offseason NW winds. It will break through all tides and all swell directions, from shoulder high to double over head. Although this wave isn’t perfect by Indonesian standards it has a lot to offer, peeling for up to 100m with open rippable walls and barrel sections until it closes out over the end section of reef, which can be shallow at times.

The take off can shift with some deeper ones on the reef offering good long walled up waves a chance at the barrel, and the wider ones giving more of an open wall to work with as they break on the deeper part of the reef.
The reef here is relatively deep compared to its more northern neighbours at Jimmy’s and Honeysmacks and intermediates and experts will have fun on the rights, especially the regular footers who are looking for a respite from the long walled up waves of Ujung Bocur down south.

Best Conditions for Jennys Right

Jenny’s right breaks on all tides, all swell directions from shoulder high to double overhead. A wet season wave it is offshore in the off season trade winds from the NW, so a good respite during stormy conditions.

Getting in and out at Jennys Right

Get in to the wave by making your way out to the top of the reef behind the take off zone, and making the jump between the sets. There are a few cuts in the reef that are exposed at low tides that can be used to help you navigate the tricky reef jump. On the higher tides, its a matter of paddling out over the lagoon and making your way across the reef. This jump can be tricky on larger swells. The other option is to make the long paddle out from the beach to the south if the reef jump is too difficult, but it can be a long paddle.

Getting to Jennys Right

Follow the newly constructed road all the way north from Krui town, turn left at Jalan Khalipah Alam at the Indomaret. Follow this road, for 100m until you get out of the village and the road meets the sea. You will see the wave right infront of a small grass patch where you can hang out and park. Keep an eye out for Cecep, a friendly local who will help you out with accomodation or some local lunch!

Hazards to look out for at Jennys Right

The rock jump can be a little tricky, and the end section can get a little shallow so be mindful when pulling off the last manoeuvre. This wave is pretty approachable for most levels. There can be a little bit of petty theft here, so lock up your belongings.

Krui Left

Krui left is perfect little left hand reef that is super fun. It doesn’t really get big, but is a great barrel when it does.
