It is one of the busier parts of Indonesia, but is one of the favoured destinations for tourists and expats alike. When a large swell arrives, this wave can wake up and offer respite for the regular footers sick of going left.

About Airport Rights

Located on the southern side of Bali’s international airport runway, the fickle right handers of Airport Rights wraps around the reef into Jimbaran beach.

Aiport Rights can offer a world-class draining right-hander when the conditions come together. It needs a large SW – W swell to get around the Bukit peninsula, high tides to cover the shallow reef and light winds as the dry season trade winds blow onshore here.

Getting in and out at Airport Rights

Access is by usually by taking a local boat from the beach at Jimbaran or Kuta and simply jumping of the side! Be sure to discuss with you boat driver coming back to be sure that he either waits for you to finish surfing, or comes back at a predetermined time.

for those on a budget or looking for a lot of extra exercise you can make the paddle across to the reef from Jimbaran bay on the south side of the runway but it is not recommended.

Getting to Airport Rights

If catching a boat from Kuta you can negotiate at the beach at Jalan Wana Segara, in front of Restaurant Pantai. The boat price is negotiable but expect to pay from Rp100k + for a return trip.

If catching a boat from Jimbaran, you can find a boat near the wharf and fish market on Jalan Taman Sari.

If you are planning on paddling it is best to park at the end of Jalan Pantai Kelan and paddle from there.

Hazards to look out for at Airport Rights

This wave breaks over shallow coral, so be aware when surfing on the low tides.
